It all started when Harry instagrammed this picture of a couples’ tattoos in October of 2012
1. Oops and Hi
He already had the “Hi” tattoo, then in November of 2012 Louis got the “Oops” tattoo
2. “I Can’t Change”
Louis’ quotation marks on the inside of his wrist and Harry’s “I can’t change” tattoo on the outside of his wrist
3. Ship and Compass
The reason why Harry got his ship:
“He only chose it after he arrived. He wanted a realistic looking English ship, because he misses home and needs to remind himself that he’s homeward bound.”
“What he said: We’re always on the road but my heart is at home and I want a ship.”
Also, Louis’ compass points to home
4. Birds don’t have eyebrows
Check out the eyebrows (birds don’t even have) on the birds. The bird on the left has a distinct arch and the bird on the right has a distinct slanted line
5. It Is What It Is
The tattoo artist Liam posted the first picture on his flickr and…
… voilá!
6. Anchor and Rope
Anchors symbolize stability, fidelity, security. Anchors have no purpose without a rope to be tied to.
It reminds me of something…
“My hands, your hands, tied up like two ships. Drifting, weightless. Waves try to break it. I’d do anything to save it.”
7. Heart and Arrow
Harry’s human heart tattoo on February 24th and on March 9th Louis got an arrow. An arrow through a heart is classically symbolic of “love” or “love hurts”
8. Rose and Dagger
Harry got his rose tattoo on September
But, there’s a dagger through the rose…
AND A YEAR LATER LOUIS GOT THE DAGGER TATTOO
On the same arm and placement as Harry’s rose
“The rose has already been taken care of”
I know, I know…
But that’s all coincidences, right?
Coincidences.
Sometimes things are coincidental.
Just coincidental.
